Albania's exports of goods increased by 5.2%, in January

Albania's exports of goods increased by 5.2%, according to official data published by the Institute of Statistics (INSTAT). Exports reached the value of ALL 23 billion in January, up by 5.2% compared to the same period of the previous year and by 4.9% compared to December 2019.
 
Imports of goods reached the value of ALL 42 billion, decreased by 0.7% compared to the previous year and by 24.8% compared to December 2019.
 
This month's trade deficit is ALL 19 billion, decreased by 7.1% compared to January 2019 and 44.1% compared to December 2019.
 
The largest category of goods exported from Albania during the first month of 2020 were minerals, fuels, andelectricity, construction materials and metals and machinery, equipment and spare parts.
 
The European Union (EU) accounted for 73.1% of total goods exported from Albania in January.
Imports from EU countries accounted for 76.2% of the total goods. Albania's main trading partners were Italy, Greece, Germany, and Turkey.
