AIDA, participated in the Investment Promotion Study Tour, which was held in Gdansk and Warsaw, Poland

The Albanian Investment Development Agency (AIDA) participated in the Investment Promotion Study Tour, which was held in Gdansk and Warsaw, Poland, during the June 24-28, 2024. This activity was organized and financed by the USAID Project for Economic Development, Governance and Enterprise Growth (EDGE) and brought together Investment Promotion Agencies from Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.

The purpose of the visit was to get to know the best practices in creating and implementing a favorable environment for foreign direct investments, where the participants got to know closely the case of Poland, as a model of success in attracting FDI. Within the framework of the visit, a series of meetings, workshops, presentations, as well as site visits were held, to get to know concrete cases of the practical implementation of investments.

During the days of the visit, the agencies were hosted by Invest in Pomerania and the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), who shared with the attendees the reasons for success and the practices followed by each agency in attracting investments in the region of Pomerania and in the state of Poland. Also, the Special Economic Zones and Technology Parks, as well as the Northvolt company, were visited.

An important part of this visit were the presentations of case studies by the senior managers of the companies that have decided to operate in Pomerania, such as Boeing, Wipro, State Street, Intel and HIAB, as well as in Poland, such as Amazon, SoftServe, VISA, JLL, KMD and Coller. AIDA representatives had the opportunity to meet company leaders closely, presenting Albania as a destination where they can develop their business.

At the end of the visit, the participating counterpart agencies shared the desire to develop further cooperation with AIDA and the participating companies showed interest in considering Albania as an investment destination. AIDA representatives expressed their willingness to assist companies in the assessment of Albania and also to cooperate with the homologues.
