Business Round Table “Poland – Albania”

Today the “Poland – Albania” Business Round Table was held with the participation of the President of the Republic of Albania Sh.T.Z. Bajram Begaj and the President of the Republic of Poland Sh.T.Z. Andrzej Duda.

This event, co-organized by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) and the Albanian Investment Development Agency (AIDA), received special attention for the importance it had in establishing cooperative relations between entrepreneurs from Poland and Albania and the expression of ideas concrete for expansion in the Albanian market.

The President of the Republic of Albania Sh.T.Z. Bajram Begaj expressed his readiness for close cooperation for strengthening and expanding economic relations and the support provided by the friendly country for NATO integration and EU membership. Also, Mr. Begaj emphasized the great potential of Albania, from which Polish investors can benefit.

In his speech, the President of the Republic of Poland Sh.T. Mr. Andrzej Duda emphasized the support of Polish investments in Albania and presented bilateral economic relations, emphasizing the strengthening of the Poland-Albania dialogue for the growth of commercial cooperation.

The director of the Albanian Investment Development Agency, Mr. Sokol Nano, expressed the highest consideration for the organization of this event aimed at promoting and increasing bilateral economic cooperation. Mr. Nano also made a presentation of the reforms undertaken by the Albanian Government to improve the business climate, influencing the increase in the flow of foreign investments in the last 10 years.

During the event, the Member of the Board of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), Mr. Zdzislaw Sokal, gave his speech, who made a presentation of the function and purpose of PAIH and the bilateral institutional meetings held in Albania. Mr. Sokal presented the sectors of the companies participating in this event and expressed the desire for cooperation and establishment of Polish and Albanian joint ventures.

Following this, the leaders of the counterpart agencies, AIDA and PAIH signed the Cooperation Agreement, as the first step of a continuous process with the aim of strengthening mutual relations, but also sharing institutional experiences, to create the necessary support network for the companies of two countries. At the end of the “Poland – Albania” Business Round Table, B2B (business to business) meetings were held between Polish and Albanian companies.
