Under the scope of investment facilitation, the Albanian Investment Development Agency (AIDA):
AIDA has a proactive role in the approach to establishing the strongest possible relationship between the agency and all actors that contribute to creating a more favorable climate for increasing foreign investment in Albania. For this reason, the agency remains committed to creating or continuously engaging in initiatives that create or expand new opportunities for new investors or investors present in the country.
Promotion efforts are also related to the ongoing engagement with investors who are already present in Albania. By providing effective services and keeping communication channels open, AIDA gains trust, visibility and credibility for other potential investors who will engage with us for their plans to invest in Albania.
In 2024, the Albanian Investment Development Agency (AIDA), with the support of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) and the World Bank Group (WBG), developed an outreach campaign focusing on the tourism sector in Spain during June 18-20.
The selection of the sector was carried out considering the developments of tourism in Albania as well as the significant increase of interest and investments in this field.
In the context of attracting elite European brands to the local market, AIDA held physical meetings with some of the most prominent Spanish hotel groups, including Barcelo Group, Catalonia Hotels and Eurostar Hotels by Groupo Hotusa to present the Albanian government's offer, the fiscal incentives of the tourism sector, Albania's competitive advantages, etc.
The campaign was also carried out in accordance with the objectives set by the Business and Investment Development Strategy (BIDS) 2021-2027, which envisages the implementation of a total of 7 promotion campaigns throughout the duration of the strategy's action.
AIDA has a proactive role in approaching foreign investors, already present in Albania.
The Investment and Aftercare sector has developed a network of communication and cooperation with relevant stakeholders, important at the local and central level, with the aim of promoting reinvestment in Albania. This essentially leads to job creation and a better investment climate across the country.
In this regard, AIDA has institutionalized cooperation with the local government, in order to be in a common synergy towards improving the service for current foreign investors and generating new investors.
In 2024, the network of cooperation with the municipalities was expanded with the municipality of Korça. The cooperation network is already consolidated in 12 municipalities of the country: Shkodër, Vlorë, Tirana, Durrës, Fier, Berat, Lezhë, Korçë, Elbasan, Kavajë, Vorë and Kamëz.
For the period 2023 - July 24, 63 aftercare meetings were held with foreign and local entities.
AIDA, as part of its investor aftercare service, has held a "Round Table" in the automotive sector in April, to highlight the challenges and achievements of this sector in Albania.
